The part decides how long the repair lasts. Here is what we fit, and what the cheap version costs you later.
Shingles
Shingles are the visible layer and the one homeowners compare. The difference between the two common grades shows up in the first real wind and the first hail.
We install laminated architectural shingles with a heavier mat and a wider nailing zone, rated for higher wind speeds and carrying a longer manufacturer warranty.
Three-tab shingles are a single thin layer with cut tabs. They are lighter, they lift at the tabs in wind, and they wear out years earlier on the very same roof.
Underlayment
Underlayment is the water barrier beneath the shingles. You never see it, and it is the layer that saves the deck when wind drives rain sideways.
We use synthetic underlayment that stays dimensionally stable, resists tearing around fasteners, and can sit exposed through a weather delay without breaking down.
Felt paper is the cheap standard. It absorbs water, wrinkles as it dries, tears at the fasteners in wind, and degrades if the roof is left open even one night.
Flashing
Flashing is the metal at every interruption in the roof: valleys, walls, chimneys and pipes. It is where the large majority of roof leaks actually begin.
We form and install new metal flashing at every penetration and wall junction, with correct laps and a long-life pipe boot at each vent.
Reusing bent flashing and filling the gaps with roof cement is the shortcut. Sealant is not flashing, and the first cracked bead lets water into the deck.
Ridge Vents
The ridge vent lets hot, damp attic air escape. Without a working one, the attic cooks the shingles from underneath and cuts their life short.
We install rigid baffled ridge vent with an external wind baffle and a weather filter, so it keeps pulling air out even in a crosswind while shedding rain and snow.
Rolled mesh vent lays flat under the cap shingles and compresses to almost no open vent area. Driven rain and blown snow pass right through the open weave.
Drip Edge
Drip edge is the metal at the eaves and rakes that pushes runoff into the gutter instead of behind it.
We install rust-resistant metal drip edge on every eave and rake, lapped correctly with the underlayment so water cannot track back onto the fascia.
Leaving the old drip edge in place, or skipping it entirely, is common on fast jobs. Water wicks back under the first course and rots the fascia and the deck edge.
Doing It This Way Since 2016.
Ridgeline is the anti-storm-chaser: local crews, real addresses, insurance-claim help without the hustle, and a written workmanship warranty that outlasts the truck's paint. Inspections come with photos from your own roof, not a scary speech in the driveway.
Named for the ridge - the line where a roof proves itself.
