Franchise FAQ
We’re looking for owners who want to build something local that lasts. If you’re tired of corporate politics and want a business where your word still matters, here’s what we get asked most often.
Common Questions
Do I need roofing experience to open a Ridgeline franchise?
No. We’ve trained teachers, firefighters, and sales managers into solid operators. What you need is a willingness to learn the trade, hire people better than you at the technical work, and show up when you say you will. Pete Navarro started as a carpenter’s apprentice in 1984, and he built this system so you don’t have to spend forty years figuring it out the hard way.
What’s the total investment range to open a Ridgeline Roofing Co. franchise?
Total investment typically runs from the low six figures into the mid-six figures, depending on your market size, equipment needs, and whether you lease or buy your initial vehicle fleet. That covers your territory rights, training, launch marketing, and the tools to start taking calls day one. We don’t believe in burying costs in footnotes, and we’ll walk you through every line item before you sign anything.
Is financing available for the franchise fee and startup costs?
Yes. We maintain relationships with third-party lenders who understand our model, and many franchisees combine SBA-backed financing with personal investment. We’ve seen strong credit histories and solid business plans close funding in sixty to ninety days. Call our franchise development team at (844) 563-1816 and we’ll connect you with the options that have worked for owners in similar situations.
How large is my protected territory, and is it exclusive?
Every Ridgeline franchisee receives a defined, exclusive territory based on population density, housing stock age, and storm frequency, not arbitrary lines on a map. We won’t sell another franchise that competes for your homeowners. Our territories are sized so you can build real market share without driving two hours for every estimate. In some markets, that means a single metro area. In others, it’s several counties.
How long is the initial training program?
Four weeks, split between our headquarters and your own market. Two weeks covering sales, estimating, insurance-claim documentation, and our K.E.Y.S. values system. Two weeks shadowing a veteran operator on actual jobs, actual calls, actual difficult customers. You’ll learn how we inspect a roof with photos that tell the truth, how we price so there’s no surprises on the bill, and how we deliver bad news without losing trust. Graduation means you can run a job start to finish without calling for help.
What ongoing fees or royalties does Ridgeline charge?
We charge a monthly royalty based on a percentage of gross revenue, plus a modest marketing fund contribution that pools resources for manufacturer co-op programs, regional storm-response campaigns, and the brand standards that keep us looking like professionals. No hidden technology fees, no mandatory software subscriptions we control, no penalties for calling your own shots on local sponsorships. We make our money when you make yours.
How long does it take to open my franchise after signing?
Most franchisees are operational within ninety to one hundred twenty days from franchise agreement to first customer call. That includes securing your territory, completing training, hiring your initial crew, and passing our field certification. We’ve had motivated owners move faster, and we’ve had others take an extra month to get their family situation right. We’re not in a rush to collect your fee and disappear. We’re in a rush to get you standing behind roofs in your community.
What support do I receive after I’m open?
A dedicated franchise business coach, weekly operations calls for your first six months, and 24/7 access to our technical hotline when you hit a roof you’ve never seen before. Our purchasing cooperative negotiates pricing with GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, and our other manufacturer partners so you’re not out there alone against the suppliers. We share what’s working in other markets, from radio scripts that actually pull calls to the seasonal tune-up campaign that keeps crews busy in February. And when a hailstorm hits your territory at 2 a.m., you’ll have our storm-response playbook and a live person on the other end of the phone.
What does the ideal Ridgeline franchisee look like?
Someone who’s managed people, who’s been burned by a broken promise and decided to be the kind of person who keeps theirs. You don’t need to be the loudest voice in the room. You need to answer your phone, look a homeowner in the eye, and mean it when you say you’ll stand behind the work. Our best owners are former military, retired tradespeople, or mid-career professionals who’ve saved some capital and want to build equity in something they can hand to their kids. They sponsor the county fair. They remember customers’ names at the grocery store. They plan to be in town in thirty years.
What’s my next step if I’m interested?
Call (844) 563-1816 and you’ll reach a live person, not a voicemail tree. We’ll send you our franchise disclosure document, schedule a call with Pete Navarro or a member of our development team, and if it makes sense for both sides, we’ll invite you to headquarters to see how we operate. No pressure, no deposit to keep talking. We’re named for the ridge, the line where a roof proves itself. We figure a partnership should prove itself the same way.
Still Have Questions?
We’ve been at this since 1984, and we’ve learned that a phone call usually sorts out what a dozen emails can’t. Call (844) 563-1816 anytime, day or night, weekend or storm, and a live person will pick up. Or fill out the form below and we’ll call you within one business day. Either way, you’ll get a straight answer and no runaround.
